- Saves screenshots as PNG images to your computer.
- Uploads the screenshots to any ftp server.
- Warns you with a nice little tooltip when your screenshot is uploaded.
- You can customize the filenames of your screenshots with different patterns.
- Copies the url of the uploaded file to your clipboard so that you can simply paste it in your chat window or forum post.
PngShot is hosted at http://pngshot.sourceforge.net : go there for more details, downloads and help. The project is currently unfortunately unmaintained, for a few reasons, one being my total lack of delphi knowledge.
If someone would want to take over this project, or would want to participate, I’d like to introduce the following features:
- Multi-platform-ness : I’m missing this tool when I’m on linux or macosx.
- Upload mechanisms: it should be able to have multiple upload mechanisms: not only ftp, but also scp(ssh), uploading to imageshack, … Ideally, this could be a pluggable mechanism, of course.
- Input mechanisms: it currently only takes screen snapshots, but I’d fancy the same tool being able to fetch images from my digital camera.
- Resizing, thumbnailing: associated with the above feature, automatic resizing to predifined size(s) would be useful.
